Export

ACOLCEX S.A.S. CUSTOMS BROKER has extensive experience in assisting its clients in the export processes from Colombia to foreign countries. Thanks to our Integrated Management System in Control and Security, we ensure that we carry out the required controls to prevent contamination of goods with illicit substances and to avoid any issues with customs in destination countries.

When exporting, it is important to consider the following:

  • It is recommended to have a registered company and to register with the Chamber of Commerce. This guarantees the legitimacy of foreign trade operations in customs and with international clients.

  • You must have the Unique Taxpayer Registry (RUT), as this is the mechanism used by the National Directorate of Taxes and Customs (DIAN) to identify and classify those responsible for processes supervised by this Directorate. It is important to note that you must process the specific exporter registration (boxes 54 and 55 of the RUT) at the DIAN offices designated for this purpose.

  • You must have a digital signature.

  • You must register with the Single Foreign Trade Window (VUCE) in the Exporters Police Antinarcotics Presentation and Update section: VUCE Exporters Police Antinarcotics

  • We conduct a detailed analysis of your merchandise to determine the tariff subheading for each product. This step is crucial because the correct classification determines the correct payment of duties and taxes in the destination country.

  • Register to Process Origin Criteria. To achieve a reduction in tariffs due to various international agreements, you must have the issuance of a Certificate of Origin. For this, you must first have a sworn declaration of origin determination for each of the products. The certificate of origin will be required in the destination country to apply for tariff exemptions.

  • It is necessary to validate if visas and/or prior permits are required for export authorization. Permits must be processed with:

    1. ICA (Animal and Plant Health)
    2. INVIMA (Medicines, Food, Cosmetics)
    3. AUNAP (Fish and By-Products)
    4. Ministry of Environment (Preservation of Wildlife)
    5. Environmental Secretariat (Wood and Seeds)
    6. National Mining Agency (Precious Stones and Metals)
    7. Ministry of Culture (Art, Culture, and Archaeology)
  • Keep in mind that some products are subject to quotas or thresholds depending on the destination country.

  • Prepare the Customs Clearance procedures. In the DIAN's Computer System, the Request for Shipment Authorization (SAE) is prepared at the Customs Administration where the goods will be dispatched. Documents supporting the export, such as Commercial Invoice, Packing List (if required), Sanitary Records or Approvals (if required), Transport Document, and other documents required according to the product to be exported, must be provided.

  • Once the documents are uploaded to the DIAN's Computer System, it is determined whether a physical, documentary, or automatic inspection is required. The physical inspection will be carried out at the port of departure of the goods. Once the shipment is certified, the SAE becomes an Export Declaration (DEX).
